You're right about the calls recently. I've only been watching team commentary, watched some highlights today and the commentary is so awkward, so many awkward pauses and you can hear them breathing, and they all have really bad microphones too. What is so hard for people to understand? Let's look at what Simmons has been through the last year........ Beginning of 2020 Simmons announces "I've figured it out" ie figured out how to play in this league. He goes on a 20 game run where he averages 21/10/8 shooting 61% from the floor. Combine this with his elite defense and it's a combination any coach would absolutely love on their team. Feb 2020 Simmons injures his back and is out for the rest of the season, or so it would seem. March 2020 sees the shutdown of the entire NBA due to COVID. August 2020 Simmons has recovered from his back injury and plays two and a bit games before he injures his knee. Soon after it's announced he requires surgery and is out for the rest of the season and playoffs. December 2020. Simmons has had half the offseason most others have had because of his recovery from knee surgery. The offseason was already the shortest in NBA history but it's even shorter for Ben, barely time to get much practice and conditioning in. The NBA season begins with Simmons very underdone and not having played a good stretch of competitive basketball for ten months. He plays just nine games before his knee forces him out of a couple of games because of swelling. He is still, very clearly, bothered by the injury, it's obviously not close to 100%. Now for some strange reason people are wondering what is wrong with the guy. It's like they're just parroting narratives about how he's regressed without having any knowledge about the events I've just detailed. People really are THAT stupid. Anyway, that brings us to his last game. He'd just come off a couple of games where he started to shake off that rust and looked to be getting back into basketball shape but unfortunately he got into early foul trouble in the last game which only got worse as the game wore on, he only played 21 minutes and never had time to get into a groove because he was getting forced to the bench with an ever increasing foul count. So again, a very easily understood reason for why he played like he played yet it seems like the reasoning isn't simple enough for a lot of you NBA fans......or maybe you just love hating on certain players so much you become completely ignorant when you spot even the slightest opportunity to rag on them. Yeah, I think that might be it...

As a sixers fan, I’ve been saying this all along, but personally, I think we should trade Ben for Bradley Beal. Brad is a serious offensive threat and Ben should be but is not. Also brad is wasting his prime in Washington

Yeahhh i think your overreating to the Nets bruh. Like 2 of the Heat's top 4 players were out that game. And the problem with the Nets is that they have to sacrifice offense to play anything near good defense. I dont like it

Ben Simmons problem isn't his shooting, it's his non-aggressiveness. He needs to take 15+ shots a game and 20+ when Embiid doesn't play, but he doesn't. He shoots 8 shots and plays very passive. He still plays great defense and still gets assists and rebounds, but he needs to be more aggressive. Doc should challenge him to shoot minimum 15 shots every game.
